The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

All users under the age of 13 must seek permission from their parent or guardian in order to join our web site and participate in online tutoring sessions.  While we welcome participation from members under 13, we require that a parent or guardian fill out our online tutoring registration.

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), effective April 21, 2000, applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13.  The new rules spell out what a Web site operator must include in a privacy policy, when and how to seek verifiable consent from a parent and what responsibilities an operator has to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

Policy for Minors and Children

Our web sites are not directed to children under the age of 13, and as such we do not allow the registration by children under the age of 13.  Educational Tutorial Services does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.  Children should always ask parents for permission before providing any personal information online.  Minors (a student between the ages of 13 and 18) should not access our online tutoring sessions without the consent of a parent or guardian.
